Today was my first field trip as a teacher. We went to the school days at the Renaissance Festival. I did not like it. The kids had fun and some of it could be, but only because I didn't have to pay. Normally tickets are $20 and then you have to pay to do anything, except the shows, which are not awesome. You had to pay to go into a maze and the haunted house. Those should just be free.
The kids were surprisingly good, except on the bus. I have to sit in the back to keep them from doing stupid things.
So overall, the field trip experience was not bad. I just wish we actually went somewhere that has to do with what the students are learning this year.
